The plants overwhelmed the room and Al had trouble watching TV. His daughter flashed her boobs at the mailman. Al had bourbon for breakfast.

The car smelled like a failed marriage. No on talked about it but it was there. The kids said innocent things. Their parents stared outside.

He lifted the rock and saw maggots dancing on something, as if hopped up on coffee, and he looked at his son and said, Those are happy bugs.

Then he stood up before his family and said something that was not even remotely funny. I’m a failure, he sighed. It’s true, his son agreed.
