Three Years of Twitter

And in those three years, I’ve basically stopped watching television. Sure, a lot of things have happened, some of it huge, but in terms of my media consumption, I stopped watching television. I’m pretty sure Heroes was the last straw. The only things I watch on TV now are sports and, sometimes, major news events – and even then, I’m more likely to get the real news from places like…Twitter. Sorry network TV executives. Remember how in The Player Tim Robbins’s confused – and venal – studio exec Griffin Mill asks if they could “eliminate the writer from the artistic process“? (though the most sarcastic word in that line is “artistic.”) I’m pretty sure writers will always be around. They might not be treated well, but they will survive. It’s the network TV executives we should be worried about. Well. Worry might be too strong a word.
